Starting ScheduleKeeper

To start ScheduleKeeper, double-click on its icon.
Click on an area of the dialog box that comes up to see an explanation:

Open Existing Schedule

Clicking this button brings up an Open Schedule... dialog box.
Once you select a schedule and click OK, the main screen is brought up.

Create New Schedule

Clicking this button brings up a Create New Schedule... dialog box.
Type in a new schedule name and click OK to go to the main screen.

Exit ScheduleKeeper

Clicking this button exits ScheduleKeeper.

The Main Screen

Once you get a schedule opened or started, the SK main screen is shown. This can either
be in Calendar View or Date Listing view. To change the schedule's name, click the status bar panel at the bottom left corner.
If you have any events (appointments) for the current day, the number shows up in the
panel next to the schedule name.

Calendar View

You can change the month and year by clicking on the dropboxes at the top right corner.
To see the schedule for a certain day, double-click it.
To view the number of events for any given day, click that day, and the number of
events will show up in the panel next to the schedule name.

To edit an event listed, click on it once.

A note on saving

You don't need to save with ScheduleKeeper. The program automatically saves everything that
you do when you do it, so manual saving is not needed. The only reason the Save command is
still included in the menu system is to avoid scaring people.

Writing Events

If you double-click a date in the Calendar view, the Date Listing dialog box is brought up.
When there are no events for a certain time slot, the message "No job assigned to this slot."
appears in the slot. If there is an event for a time slot, the exact job time shows up in the
box, and up-and-down arrows appear on the right side. Use these to move up and down and view
the name of the client and the description of the job.

If you want to change the date shown without going back to the main screen, use the box at the
bottom of the screen. If you click the down arrow, you can use a drop-down calendar to change it.
To view and edit the details of a certain job, click the time button next to it.

Once you click a time button next to a job, or click an event in the Date Listing view, the Add
Event dialog box is brought up. Scroll down to a section to view help about it.

Schedule Date and Time

This shows you what date and time you're editing. You can also view this in the caption
of the dialog box. You can not edit anything in this field but the minutes, which goes
up and down.

Client Name

This box holds the client's name.

Job Description

This box holds a description of the job. It is highly recommended that you use a short-hand
for this if you want to be able to read it in the main edit schedule screen.

OK Button

This writes the new info to the schedule.

Cancel Button

This cancels the operation, and returns you to the previous window.

Delete Button

This deletes the current event from the schedule. If this event can't be found, then the operation
is canceled.

Copy Button

This sends the client name, job description, and minutes to a clipboard file which you can paste
to another time and/or date, or sends them directly to another time and/or date.

Paste Button

This places the information on the clipboard file to the current event slot. This is only enabled
after you copy something to the clipboard.
***NOTE: This is not the same as the Windows clipboard!***
