================================================== ColorEncoder 1.1 By JF Software - Joshua Foster http://www.jfsoftware.net joshua_70448@ureach.com April 1, 2002 ================================================== TABLE OF CONTENTS ================= * Introduction * The Main Window * Encoding A Message * Decoding A Message * How to Contact INTRODUCTION ============ ColorEncoder turns any written text into pixels of corresponding colors in a generated picture. What looks like static is really an encoded message. THE MAIN WINDOW =============== When you start ColorEncoder, the Main Window will appear. At the top is a large text box where you can type any message you like (Press Control and Enter for a new line). The Resolution box changes how large each pixel of color is, and the Offset box changes how much the message is encoded (don't use 0, but a number between 1 and 254). As you type your message, the "Size of Picture" and "Length of Text" figures will change. The "Size of Picture" figure shows the dimensions and number of pixels in the resulting image. The "Length of Text" figure shows how long your message is. ENCODING A MESSAGE ================== When you're finished typing your message, click the Generate! box. The window will minimize itself and restore itself when it's finished. Your image will appear to the right of the main window. Click the Save! button to save this image to your hard drive. Once you close the "Encoded Image Preview" window, you won't be able to save the image anymore. You'll have to press Generate! again to make a new image. DECODING A MESSAGE ================== Click the Load! button at any time to load a picture to be decoded. For example, load the demo.bmp file in the program's main folder (usually C:\Program Files\ ColorEncoder). The window will minimize and restore, showing the decoded message in the text box.
