============================== ProgKill 1.2 By JF Software - Joshua Foster http://www.jfsoftware.net joshua_70448@ureach.com April 17, 2002 ============================== TABLE OF CONTENTS ================= * Introduction * Using ProgKill * Configuring ProgKill * How to Contact INTRODUCTION ============ ProgKill prevents certain programs from running. You can configure it to close any programs that you want it to. USING PROGKILL ============== If you left the option turned on to run ProgKill on startup during setup, then ProgKill will automatically start running when you turn on the computer. Note that it disables any Windows key combinations (Ctrl-Alt-Del, Alt-Tab, Ctrl-Esc, etc.) to prevent users from stopping the program. Whenever a user starts up a disabled program, the program will either simply close, the screen will blank, or random dots of color will appear. Either of the last two options will lock the machine, forcing a hard reboot. CONFIGURING PROGKILL ==================== Use the "Configure ProgKill" shortcut to set ProgKill's settings. In the Settings window, a list of disabled programs is shown. Below that, you can select whether to kill the program, blank the screen, or color the screen when a disabled program is started. To add a disabled program, click the Add button. If the program you want to disable is currently running, click on its title in the list box. Otherwise, you can type all or part of the program's title in the box above. Click the Add to List box to add the program to the disabled list. To remove a disabled program, click on it and click the Remove button. When you click the Close button, the Settings window will close, but ProgKill will continue running.
