However, it does this by itself, and without notifying the user. You can tell it what kinds of files to delete, where to search, and how often. This readme file will explain how to use this program. GETTING STARTED =============== Once you've installed SA, go to the Config screen by clicking the Configure SA shortcut in the Start Menu (should be Start -> Programs -> SneakAttack). This is the Config screen. The first box (on the top-left) is the Entire Drive search. You can select which drives you would like to have searched, and how often. Next to this box is the Ignore Folders box. Click the Add button to add a folder to this list, and it will not be searched when Entire Drive Search is activated. On the bottom-left is the Hotspots box. Hotspots are folders where files are suspected of going into. Click Add to add a folder. To the right of this box is the File Types box. Here's where you tell SA what kind of files to kill. To learn more about each section, read on: (NOTE): SA will not start up on your computer until you run Config at least once! ENTIRE DRIVE ============ In an Entire Drive search, you select which drives to search in, and how often. When this search happens, SA searches the ENTIRE drive for files, and deletes the ones matching the File Types. Search Frequency: Type how often you want the Entire Drive search to occur (in minutes). Search List: Select the drives you want searched by clicking the checkboxes next to each one. IGNORE FOLDERS ============== You can tell SA to ignore specific folders during an Entire Drive search. For instance, you could want to keep your MP3's, but delete any others. In this case, use the Ignore Folders feature. Ignore These Folders: This box lists the folders you want ignored during an Entire Drive search. No files will be deleted in these folders, or any folders inside of them. Add: Add a folder to this list. You can't add a folder that has already been added as a Hotspot (for obvious reasons). Remove: Removes a folder from the Ignore List. If no folder is selected, then this does nothing. Also, this button is disabled if there are no folders in the Ignore List. HOTSPOTS ======== Hotspots are folders that you think will probably have files to be deleted. You can mark these folders and have them checked more often than the Entire Drive search. It is quicker to check Hotspots than Entire Drives. Search Frequency: Type how often you want the Hotspot search to occur (in minutes). Folder List: This box lists the folders you have marked as Hotspots. They will be searched more often than others. Add: Add a folder to this list. You can't add a folder that has already been added as an Ignored Folder (for obvious reasons). Remove: Removes a folder from the Hotspot List. If no folder is selected, then this does nothing. Also, this button is disabled if there are no folders in the Hotspot List. FILE TYPES ========== In order to hunt down and delete files, SA has to know what kind of files you want to delete. Here's where you do it. For example: you want MP3's to be deleted. You would scroll down to the entry for MP3 files (could be "Winamp media file") and select the checkbox. File Type box: This box lists which file types you want deleted. Select the checkbox next to each file type that you want deleted. Deselect the checkboxes to not remove them. OTHER BUTTONS ============= Save log as SA.txt: Saves a log file (SA.txt) into SA's folder on the hard drive. Use this to find out how many files have been killed, and what they were. Change Password: Change the config password. You'll need to type the old password once, and the new password twice (in case you mistype it the first time). Disable/Enable SA: Disables or enables SA, depending on what the button says. About SA: Shows an About SneakAttack window. Close Config: Exactly what the button says.
