JF Scanner - Final Notes
Back to Main Page
-
The three components of the JF Scanner should fit together
as is shown above. The bus sits on the tracks of the base, and the
car sits on the track of the bus.
-
Watch out for that light sensor; it breaks off easily.
-
I have yet to install a mechanism to detect the end of the
bus's track, so you have to stop the scan manually (in the PC software).
-
For my scanner, I used twist-ties to keep the wires together
into a sort of umbilical. But, I tied only the car's wires together,
and only the bus's wires together. This makes it easy to take off
one component to work on.
-
Make sure all of your tiles are pushed
down completely. If not, the scanner will get hung up.
-
Try scanning under adequate lighting; if you don't have enough light,
the picture will be too gray and vague.

To download some software to make your scanner do something,
go to the RCX and PC Software section
of the main page.
